Holly Laffer

LCSW

Holly Laffer is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been working with children, adolescents and adults for over ten years.  She has worked in community-based, outpatient and in-home settings to provide services.  Holly believes that people inherently have the ability to make positive changes in their lives, as well as the strength to work through current sources of stress.  She will provide a nurturing, calming environment to give clients a safe space to be who they are, to process all the things creating discord in their lives and will give clients the tools to better cope with stressors and alter the cognitive process.

Holly uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Theory and a Strength Based approach to therapy. Holly is a trained Forensic Interviewer of Children which has enabled her to use Motivational Interviewing to obtain information and help a client feel comfortable to discuss any form of trauma. Holly minored in vocal performance at Hunter College and incorporates music therapy into her work. She works with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, family stress, relationship stressors, and life transitions, as well as with the LGBTQIA- population.

Holly earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the State University of New York at Old Westbury and her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
